thoracic surgeon


duties and responsibilities:Also known as cardiothoracic  surgeons, thoracic surgeons are medical doctors who specialize in surgically treating illnesses, injuries and conditions that afflict the heart, lung, esophagus,etc.Thoracic surgeons can specialize in working with children, adults, or as general practitioners.In addition to performing surgeries, cardiothoracic surgeons also contribute research and information on the field of cardiothoracic surgery, can teach within the discipline, and act as consultants to general medical practitioners.

salary:$400,000 annually

education: some educational requirements that a thoracic surgeon might need are:

  • completion of any four-year degree
  • four years in medical school
  • five years in a surgical residency program,
  • three years of advanced training in cardiothoracic surgery.

reflection: no i would not like to be a thoracic surgeon.
